Most hedges should be trimmed regularly – at least once a year or twice a year optimally – so that they’ll look nice. By doing so you can avoid letting them grow unnoticed for years to the extent where trimming is no longer possible due to their height or because it is impossible to get around them. It is possible to give them round, rectangular or natural looks; it should cause us no problem at all. If the hedges hadn’t been maintained previously or were deliberately left growing, we are still capable of the job using ladders and racks (up to 6-7 meters). In case you would like to grow a tall hedge, annual maintenance is still advised as an overgrown hedge cannot be trimmed in one go but would require at least 2 years and 2-3 trimming sessions.
